This 45 minute session will introduce Java the language to a wider audience. The simplicity of application development on multiple platforms will be highlighted
in a presentation which will show the running of a simple application on a J2SE framework, and very similar code running in a J2EE context as well as a J2ME context. In short, the demonstration will show the same application running in a normal container, a web container and a mobile container.

The discussion and Q & A session will also highlight where people might wish to learn more about the various technologies used. We will also posit the question of whether the Java framework is actually more lightweight than the .NET framework on a windows machine.

Target Audience

The session is mainly targeted to students who are in their early stages of Java however we encourage everyone to attend to share their experience with these students.

Venue

Level 4, Sir William Reid Street, Gzira GZR 1033 (previously the offices of Melita Cable)
