Where Should I Go Next?

Now that you have downloaded and installed Mule ESB, the following resources will help you get started. Additionally, the What Should I Read? section describes which tasks each type of Mule user should take and which pages to read in the Mule documentation.

If you haven't already, download Mule, and then follow the instructions for installing and running it. The Quick Start provides you with the fastest and easiest steps for this.

Available Resources

  • Watch the screencasts to see demos of how you use Mule.
  • Look at the examples to see what kinds of applications you can create and how they were configured.
  • Run through the Tutorial to create a working example.
  • Look at the Mule Cookbook to see additional examples of what users in the community are doing with Mule, and see the MuleForge for existing projects you can use and build on.
  • Read the Mule User Guide for details on how to configure and extend Mule, such as configuring security, using various transports, and more. You must log in to view the Mule User Guide; registration is free and takes only a few moments.
  • See the MuleSoft blog, which provides technical tips and information from the MuleSoft engineers.
  • Watch the Technical Webinars, which provide in-depth information on a variety of topics.
  • Subscribe to the Mule mailing lists for advice and tips from users in the Mule community.

Read the topics in the Introduction section to see how Mule works and how it can add value in your organization.

Architect

  1. Read the topics in the Introduction section.
  2. Browse the topics in the Using Mule section to get a deeper understanding of how Mule works.
  3. Read About Transports and Available Transports to get an idea of which transports you'll use and which you'll need to develop.
  4. Read the Mule Deployment Architecture section to start planning how you'll deploy Mule in your organization.
  5. Lastly, browse Using Mule HQ and Controlling the Infrastructure with the Service Registry to determine which of these tools you'll want to include in your implementation.

Business Analyst

  1. Read the topics in the Introduction section to see how Mule works and how data flows through Mule.
  2. Read Configuring Components for an overview of the default business-logic components that are available and for information on how to use your existing POJOs and other business logic in Mule.
