To clarify, this is the "Spring kitchen sink" module (mule-module-spring), right? This is not so critical since Spring IoC is now in mule-core.

This module needs updating for 2.x, but I don't think we should ditch it even though we use spring for configuration because from what I understand what things in this module provide mechanisms for bridging mule and spring events etc. which is still as valid now as it was in 1.4 i think, at least for those that want/need it anyway.

That said, maybe it's a candidate for a possible move to muleforge, I don't know, I'm not sure what the criteria used for deciding that is....
